Fr. Robert Scholla, SJ ’70
Rob Scholla, S.J. is a native of Los Angeles. Before entering the Society of Jesus, he did undergraduate studies in biology at the University of Southern California and graduate work in education at the University of California in Berkeley. As a Jesuit, he obtained his M.A. in Medieval Philosophy from Fordham University and later spent seven years working and studying in Rome where he completed his doctorate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University, specializing in the area of Fundamental Theology.
Rob is passionate about education. In addition to teaching in a number of Jesuit secondary schools, he has had the opportunity to teach at Santa Clara University (SCU); the Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Loyola Marymount University. While at LMU, he offered courses in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts, the School of Education and Loyola Law School. After completing six-years of service as rector of the Jesuit Community at LMU, Rob joined the staff of the Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education at SCU in January 2013.
